This week’s feature presentation was given by Phil Curtis. It was an incredibly positive talk packed with advice on health and good living. He used relatable examples from his own children’s lives to illustrate key points, making the talk engaging and memorable. Phil’s enthusiasm and practical tips served to remind us of the importance of taking the time to think about our health, both physical and mental.

Education Slot: Morgan Bowen - Generating Facebook Referrals

Our education slot this week was led by Morgan Bowen of Perry Monroe Wealth Management, who shared valuable insights on generating referrals through Facebook. He outlined the importance of actively supporting others on Facebook, embracing our ‘Givers Gain’ philosophy. Here are some key takeaways:

  • Tagging: Ensure you tag relevant people and businesses in your posts to increase visibility and foster connections.
  • Testimonials: Write genuine testimonials for others. It boosts their credibility and strengthens your network.
  • Numbers: Share contact numbers to facilitate direct connections.
  • Websites: Include links to websites to drive traffic and provide easy access to services.

Morgan highlighted that while this approach might not directly benefit every business, it significantly helps others and reinforces the community’s collective strength. It’s a simple and effective way to generate more tangible referrals for the group.

Best 60s presentation: Phil Curtis - Utility Warehouse

The award for the best 60-second presentation this week went to Phil Curtis. Phil impressed the group by dedicating his minute to promoting Utility Warehouse, a company he supports but doesn’t own. His selfless promotion was a great example of the BNI spirit, and so earned him next week’s two-minute slot!

Reminder of our May group statistics

Our group’s performance in May showcased the dedication and collaborative spirit of our members. In the month of May our group people to members 63 times and as a result of these referrals, our member’s businesses thanked other members for just under £70,000 worth of business. This was made possible through 61 one-to-one external meetings. We also invited 11 visitors to our meetings over the course of the Month, widening our scope further across the area.

Final Thoughts

This meeting was a fantastic example of the power of community and the benefits of the BNI philosophy. By supporting each other, we continue to grow both individually and as a group. Don’t forget to join us next week for another round of inspiring presentations and valuable networking opportunities!

Until next time, keep giving, keep gaining, and let’s make every interaction count!
